Logo Research

After reviewing how popular brands have changed and re-vamped the appearences of their products, I have decided to take a leaf out of their books and attempt to do the same.

Pepsi, for example, are currently sporting a very modernised logo.

It's simple and it's a huge change from their previous logo. However, they have kept some elements the same, such as the red, white and blue orb and the colour scheme.

I want to be able to do this with the Spam logo. Spam's design hasn't undergone such changes and has remained mostly consistent throughout the years. In order for it to appeal to today's market, it will have to keep up to date with it, like Pepsi, Coca Cola and Fanta have done.

I've used drinks for a young market as an example on purpose, because I want Spam to target a young market as well. But I will also look at the company Bird's Eye.

The first logo is a re-vamp of the second one. Even this company has changed it's design to fit with modern times.

The Spam logo has seen no change whatsoever. In order for it to do well in the market again, it will need to keep up with the times.

Presentation Prep 1

In the presentation I am planning to talk about these issues in this possible order:

- firstly, what is Spam in general? What is the product and how did it come to be? What was it's purpose?
- secondly, what makes Spam a brand? The design, the name or the product itself?
- next, mention what your argument is. In this case, use that fact that Spam is considered to be the substitute meat for hard times to sell it
- then go on to talk about poster ideas, how you came up with them and why you chose them

Perhaps talk about the littler things too, such as what young people think Spam is (internet spam or the meat Spam)
And me ntion the evidence you found on what Spam is called the substitute meat!
